Seeking Writers
From the Foreign Service Community
We are seeking submissions for the AFSA News Family Member Matters column, a forum for Foreign Service spouses to voice their opinions on issues of concern to the Foreign Service community.
Writers should focus on particular issues of concern or interest to spouses and families in the Foreign Service. Examples include: employment and career concerns for spouses; security concerns; handling evacuation; raising children in the Foreign Service; and any of the numerous lifestyle issues unique to FS life. Columns that address ways that family members overcame obstacles or hardships are particularly welcome.
Please submit your 400- to 500-word essay to Associate Editor Shawn Dorman at Dorman@afsa.org. There is no deadline. This is a standing call for submissions. We are offering a $100 honorarium for any essay published as part of this series. All submissions will be seriously considered. Thanks for thinking about it!
