International Diplomacy Professor, Columbia University (posted 8/31/23)
The School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University invites nominations and applications for the Shelby Cullom Davis Professorship in the Practice of International Diplomacy. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2024.
The Davis Professor will teach courses in the fields of international diplomacy and US Foreign Policy and will direct the International Fellows Program. In addition, the Davis Professor will take a leadership role in addressing one or more of the following global policy challenges: democratic resilience; technology and innovation; geopolitical stability; inclusive prosperity and macroeconomic performance; and climate and sustainable development.
Leadership experience in the US Department of State, National Security Council, or international organizations required. An advanced degree is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have played significant roles in the central foreign policy issues of recent years and who demonstrate deep expertise in East European, East/South Asian, or African affairs.
