taled $28,500 in 2008. Academic and Art Merit Awards were given to 25 students in May 2008. These one-time-only award winners, all Foreign Service high school seniors, were recognized in the July-August 2008 issue of the Foreign Service Jour- nal. It’s not too late to apply for an AFSA Financial Aid Scholarship or a Merit Award. Applications for the 2009-2010 school year are being accepted until Feb. 6.
