The current Governing Board will finish its term of office in July, when the newly elected board takes office to serve from 2015 to 2017. AFSA would like to thank outgoing State Representatives Clayton Bond and Sue Saarnio and USAID representative Andrew Levin for their outstanding service to AFSA. Jeff Cochrane, a Foreign Service officer at USAID since 2005, has directed eco- nomic growth offices in West Africa and Iraq, was ICT Division chief in the Office of Infrastructure, and now serves as USAID desk officer for Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo and most non-presence (no USAID Mission) countries in Europe. A strong believer in collective bargaining, Cochrane has been a member of the Wisconsin Teaching Assistants Asso- ciation (AFL-CIO and AFT) and the American Federation of Government Employees. He has a doctorate from the Univer- sity of Wisconsin, Madison, in the economics of institutions and a bachelor’s degree from Brown University. He lives in Georgetown with his husband, Robert, a television critic for USA Today. Daniel E. Spokojny joined the Depart- ment of State in May 2009 as a Foreign Service officer. He has served overseas in Karachi and Vilnius, as well as in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations and the office of the Special Representative for Afghani- stan and Pakistan in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining State, Dan worked in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
