On May 3, following the memorial ceremony at the State Department (cov- ered in the June FSJ ) , AFSA hosted its annual reception for members, held this year in the pavilion of the U.S. Diplomacy Center. With drinks and a deli- cious buffet, the AFSA recep- tion provided an opportunity for those participating in the day’s events to relax, social- ize and enjoy the exhibit celebrating The Foreign Service Journal’ s centennial, “Defining Diplomacy for 100 Years.” It was wonderful to see so many AFSAmembers over the course of the two days.
