Shultz has agreed to accept AFSA’s Lifetime Contributions to American Diplomacy Award for 2003. Previous recipients have been U. Alexis Johnson, Frank Carlucci, George H.W. Bush, Lawrence Eagleburger, Cyrus Vance, David Newsom, Lee Hamilton, and Tom Pickering. The award will be presented next June at AFSA’s annual awards ceremony held in the Benjamin Franklin Room of the Department of State. Details will be announced once the date is set.
