Steven L. Farley’s name was added to the marble plaques in the department’s C Street lobby. A wreath was laid to honor Farley and all Foreign Service members who are memorialized on the plaques. AFSAMemorial Plaque Ceremony Honors Fallen Colleagues On May 6, the American For- eign Service Association held its annual memorial plaque ceremony to honor fallen colleagues. Secretary of State John F. Kerry and AFSA Presi- dent Ambassador Barbara Stephenson presided. The memorial plaques, located in the Department of State’s C Street lobby, date back to 1933, and the memo- rial ceremony has become an integral part of Foreign Service Day activities. This year, Steven L. Farley’s name was inscribed on the memorial wall, joining those of 247 other individuals who have been recognized for making the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
