Dr. Jerome Wolgin is recently retired from his job as a senior economist working in the Office of Sustainable Development in the Africa Bureau of USAID. This was his second time working in USAID. In the ten years between his first and second stints, he was a Lead Economist for the World Bank, working on Nigeria and donor partnerships. In his first round at USAID, Dr. Wolgin worked on economic issues, especially economic policy across Sub-Saharan Africa. He drafted a major evaluation of USAID's private sector development programs in the 1980s and drafted the first CDSSes for Malawi and for Zimbabwe. He helped manage the African Economic Policy Reform Program in the 1980s and was later appointed Director of the Office of Sustainable Development which supported technical expertise in Africa. This event costs $5 and includes coffee, tea & cookies. This event is co-hosted by DACOR & UAA.
