Description:

The American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) invites its members to the 2025 AFSA Awards Ceremony. This year the ceremony will be co-hosted with the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD) at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

The ceremony is dedicated to honoring the exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication of members of the Foreign Service community.

At this year’s ceremony, we will be presenting ten awards to 28 individuals which honor exemplary performance and recognize the importance of constructive dissent.

AFSA is honored to present Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield with the Lifetime Contributions to American Diplomacy Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership, dedication to mentoring the next generation of diplomats, and her achievements advancing America’s foreign policy interests both throughout her long career in the Foreign Service and most recently as the Ambassador to the United Nations.

Additionally, Virginia State Senator Tara Durant and Delegate Paul E. Krizek will be honored as this year’s winners of the Foreign Service Champions Award, in recognition of their legislative efforts to support Foreign Service families in the state of Virginia.

AFSA’s Constructive Dissent awards showcase the outstanding efforts of Foreign Service members who work tirelessly to effect positive change within the system. Our Exemplary Performance awards highlight the professionalism, spirit of service, and volunteerism that define the Foreign Service community.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. Please RSVP using this link by September 22. If you have any questions, email awards@afsa.org
