AFSA would like to invite you to our Centennial Book Market and Publishing Panel on November 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At the book market (11-12 p.m.), you’ll meet Foreign Service members who have made the leap to become published authors. Many of them are featured in the annual November FSJ roundup of books by members of the Foreign Service community, “In Their Own Write.” Meet some of these authors, ask them how they did it, and support their work by purchasing their books—just in time for the holidays!
You can pick up a copy of AFSA’s centennial book, The Voice of the Foreign Service, a lively read that captures the history of both AFSA and the Foreign Service at 100. Author Harry Kopp will be on hand to sign copies of this 2024 updated edition at a special event Book Market day price of $10.
Do you have an idea for a book but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you already have a manuscript but don’t know how to get it from your laptop onto the shelves of your local bookstore?
At the publishing panel, “Publishing Tips from the Pros,” you’ll hear from a publisher, an agent, and a writing coach with ideas and tips to help you turn your dream of being a published author into a reality.
You can register for these free events here. Reach out to member@afsa.org with any questions.
