In the past 25 years, each U.S. President has tried to find a more productive way to interact with Russia and each of the four resets has ended in disappointment. With U.S.-Russian relations at their lowest level since before Mikhail Gorbachev came to power, is it time to rethink our approach? Dr. Angela Stent will discuss the bilateral and multilateral issues that preoccupy the U.S.-Russian relationship and the domestic forces that shape the world view of the Russian leadership. Professor Angela Stent is Director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies and Professor of Government and Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She is also a Senior Fellow (non-resident) at he Brookings Institution and co-chairs its Hewett Forum on Post-Soviet Affairs. During the academic year 2015-2016 she is a fellow at he Transatlantic Academy of the German Marshall Fund. From 2004 to 2006 she served as National Intelligence Officer for Russia and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council.
