Lady Caroline Cox and Lord David Alton are experts on the critical situation in Syria and have created a cross-party coalition on this important foreign policy issue in the British Parliament. Indeed, Lady Cox was on the ground in Syria during the bombing of Aleppo last year and will have been to Syria again the week before she presents at DACOR. Therefore, her first-hand intelligence is current. Lady Cox and Lord Alton have met at the grass roots level with the Syrian people who have suffered the most form the conflict. They have also engaged Syrian political and religious leaders. The Baronness Cox of Queensbury was Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords from 1985-2005 and is currently a Crossbench Peer. She is the Founder of The Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust. Her work in the field of humanitarian aid has taken her on many missions to conflict zones. Lord Alton served for 18 years as a Liverpool Member of Parliament before stepping down in 1997 when he was raised to the Peerage and became an Independent Crossbench Peer. His focuses include North Korea, South Sudan, the refugee crisis, anti-Semitism and modern day slavery and human trafficking. This event costs $35 and includes dinner.
