Inside Diplomacy: 20 Years Later - Emerging from the Legacy of 9/11

Start Date/Time:
Wednesday, September 22, 2021 - 16:30
End Date/Time:
Wednesday, September 22, 2021 - 17:30
Description:

The September 11 attacks changed many things about America, including how we conduct our foreign policy. The post-9/11 counterterrorism foreign policy over the past twenty years has led to American war fatigue, loss of American appetite in global engagement, and a new reckoning with the long-held concept of American Exceptionalism.

Join us for the latest Inside Diplomacy event, where we examine the legacy of post 9/11 foreign policy, discuss the renewal of U.S. global engagement, and the impact of the recent Afghanistan withdrawal.

AFSA President Ambassador Eric Rubin will host Ambassador Anne Patterson, former Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and Ambassador Ronald E. Neumann, President of the American Academy of Diplomacy. There will be a chance to ask questions.

We look forward to seeing you there! Register now.
