Dr. John Wetenhall, Director of the George Washington University Museum and the Textile Museum, will discuss the collections, exhibitions and programs of the GW Museum in Foggy Bottom, along with the museum's academic and cultural collaborations on and off campus, including with the diplomatic community. Dr. Wetenhall came to GW with over 20 years of leadership experience at top institutions, including the Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, FL, and the Cheekwood Museum of Art in Nashville. At GW he oversaw the building of an on-campus art museum and resource center; coordinated the integration of the 90-year-old Textile Museum into GW's new museum; and fostered collaborations with GW's museum studies, museum education and other academic programs. This event costs $25 and includes lunch.
