Description:

Note: This event is designed for retiree members.

AFSA is pleased to present “Reviewing Your Retirement Plan,” the last webinar of 2023 in our Federal Benefits Series, on Tuesday, December 5 at 12 p.m. ET.  AFSA’s Vice President for Retirees John Naland, a former director of State's Office of Retirement, will walk you through key topics. Whether you have been retired for a few months or many years, it’s worthwhile to assess whether you need to make any course corrections in your retirement planning. Click here to register.

Topics include reviewing and updating your annuity records, keeping beneficiary designations current, what your survivor needs to know, the importance of reviewing your TSP allocations, when to take Social Security, whether to sign up for Medicare Part B, federal reemployment rules, and other germane issues.  There will be time to ask a limited number of questions of general interest to the audience. Please note: This program is for those who have already retired. For those nearing retirement, please watch John Naland’s April 2023 presentation entitled "Early to Mid-Career Retirement Planning."

Please click here to register for the Zoom.  You will receive an email reminder shortly before the event that will include a link to a recently refreshed AFSA document entitled Retirement Planning: Checklist for Current Retirees, which will be useful for you to follow during the presentation.  For those who would like a preview, the document is also available here.

Note that AFSA records and posts presentations about one week after the event, so if you are unable to participate live, you will have access to the presentation later.
