Washington, D.C. – The American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) stands with the dedicated, non-partisan public servants of the U.S. Foreign Service. Every day, our diplomats advance American interests, make America stronger and more prosperous, and strengthen national security—often at great personal risk. Their work is vital, and their commitment is unwavering.

To disparage public servants by making them prove their value through this OPM email exercise does a disservice to them and to the country they love and work tirelessly to represent. We know their value, and we reject rhetoric that undermines their integrity. We will not stand by while their careers are threatened.

AFSA will vigorously oppose any unlawful effort to terminate or diminish the work and sacrifice of Foreign Service members. We'll remain steadfast in defending those who serve our nation with honor, professionalism, and dedication.

The American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) is the professional association and labor union of the men and women of the United States Foreign Service.
