The American Foreign Service Association,

established in 1924, is the professional association

and labor union of the United States Foreign Service.

With more than 16,500 dues-paying members, AFSA

represents all active and retired Foreign Service

employees of the Department of State, U.S. Agency

for International Development, Foreign Agricultural

Service, Foreign Commercial Service, Animal and

Plant Health Inspection Service and Broadcasting

Board of Governors.
