The winner will embark on an approximately 100-day study abroad program that will involve taking classes aboard the SAS ship and earning academic credit from Colorado State University, traveling the world during class breaks, and making life-long memories. The winning essayist will also receive a $2,500 cash prize, and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to meet the U.S. Secretary of State. • The Semester at Sea scholarship must be used by the winner on any one of the academic voyages: Fall, Spring or Short-term.
• Value of the scholarship is up to $29,395 depending on voyage and cabin type.
• Scholarship is valid only during the winner's enrollment as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
• Student must apply and be admitted to the Semester at Sea program and meet all admission requirements.
• Scholarship is non-transferable.
